Bridal Illustration 01

This was an illustration done back in 2009 of my dearest friend, Masha who got married after a 13 year love affair! she was a stunning bride on the evening of 5th Dec 2009 and i drew this for her.

I used water colors and Rembrant color pencils to do the highlights with a touch of pearl paint to get the shimmering effect on her dress and some glitter to show the embroidery.

The dress was designed by Poornima Abeyrathne, a well known Bridal Designer in Colombo and her Make-up and hair was done by Ramani Fernando, another prominent figure in the beauty industry of Sri Lanka.
This is the Home-coming saree. In sri Lanka this outfit is a Traditional Costume which is called "osariya" and a bride wears a Red osariya when she returns to her husband's house after the honey-moon. the below saree was worn by the same bride, on her home coming function and she wanted both the outfits illustrated for she loves them both equally.
